The 0.6-mile Andersen RacePark karting track provides the ideal learning ground for future racing champions, most of whom begin their racing careers in karting.
How to Get Started in Racing
Most professional race car drivers started out in some form of karting, and for some people (especially younger people) it becomes the natural first step in the pursuit of a professional career. But karting is also a great learning tool, as it offers high-performance vehicles and close competition at relatively low costs. There’s no better way to start experiencing the thrill and satisfaction of racing.
Teaching people to race is our primary goal. We offer many ways to learn, including private coaching for those who want individual attention.
Getting Started with Kids (under age 16)
Karting offers many different options for kids. Of course, as a child grows they’ll need to keep moving up into bigger and faster classes. Because of this, we generally recommend the Rotax MAX classes for kids aged 7 and older. Rotax MAX allows you to continue using the same engine at each step in the growth process by adjusting the power output with various parts and accessories. Our instructors are available to work with parents and kids to choose the best kart for each age group.
Our instructors all have racing experience (karting and formula cars), and they will concentrate on improving your speed, consistency and overall skill levels.
Track Time: 45 minutes
The clinics are an excellent way to get coaching from our instructors cost effectively. With a minimum of 3 drivers required, instructors will work with the group as a whole, providing feedback in and around all of the on track sessions. The aim: Improve speed, consistency and overall skill.
Track Time: 45 minutes Price: $100 per driver
Competition Speed Schools:
If you’ve got the bug from the rental karts, and you want to see what real speed is all about, then look no further than our 2 Stroke Competition Karts. Our schools are run in half day increments, and with the Andersen Racing Team overseeing the kart prep and driver coaching, drivers will receive a true insight into what it takes to be a professional race car driver. Whether you’re an aspiring race car driver, a corporate group or simple enthusiasts, the Competition Karting School will provide you with speed and adrenaline. All drivers will be treated like professionals and put through similar programs to what our race team drivers undergo. Price: $450 +tax, per driver.

From the karting ranks, drivers can move through the entire the Mazda Road to Indy, which is owned and managed by Andersen Promotions. The Mazda Road to Indy takes a young driver seamlessly from karting into the Verizon IndyCar Series through the three steps that comprise the ladder system: the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires and the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires.
